For Foreign Citizens

The rule of enrolling foreign citizens into Tbilisi Open University:
Enrolling foreign and Georgian citizens living abroad in Tbilisi Open University is carried
out according to the order #725 September 01, 2009 and the order #98 October 01 2010 by the
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.

The university offers foreign and Georgian citizens living abroad (who studied and got the
complete general education abroad last 2 years), also the people who study/studied in a foreign
country and earned credits at an authorized higher education institution of a foreign country
Bachelor or Master’s programmes, are offered to continue studies at the authorized and
accredited Bachelor or Master’s programmes (English or Georgian), professional programmes
(English or Georgian) and also 60 credit Georgian language educational programme.

// Annual tuition fee for English Bachelor and Master's Programmes -4700 USD equivalent amount in GEL;
// Annual tuition fee for Georgian Bachelor and Master's Programmes for foreign citizens -3500 GEL;
// Annual tuition fee for professional Georgian programmes for foreign citizens - 1500 USD equivalent
amount in GEL;
// Annual tuition fee for professional English programmes for foreign citizens - 2200 USD equivalent
amount in GEL;

The university also offers intensive courses of English and Georgian - tuition fee
// 1.000 -2.000 USD equivalent amount in GEL (depending on the level of English and Georgian).
The university announces the enrollment in English programmes twice a year: in September-October
and February-March.

The applicants for a Bachelor and a Master’s programmes will be required to submit the following documents:

Foreign applicants:

// An application form;
// 4 photos (3x4) (printed and on CD);
// A copy of ID document (only the first page translated and confirmed by the notary public)
// A copy of the document, got at a foreign general education institution or its equivalent ;
All the foreign documents must be translated into Georgian and confirmed by the notary public.

Georgian applicants who studied and got complete general - or its equivalent education in a foreign country:

// An application form;
// 4 photos (3x4) (printed and on CD);
// A copy of ID document.
// A copy of the document, got at a foreign general education institution or its equivalent;
// An official document confirming the applicant having studied at a foreign general education institution or its
equivalent last 2 years.
All the foreign documents must be translated into Georgian and confirmed by the notary public.

Applicants for Master’s programmes:

// An application form addressed to the Rector;
// A copy of ID document
// A copy of the respective higher education qualification document, issued by an authorized higher
education institution of a foreign country;
All the foreign documents must be translated into Georgian and confirmed by the notary public.

The students of higher educational institutions abroad who want to continue their studies
at Tbilisi Open University will be required to submit the following documents:


// An application form addressed to the Rector;
// 4 photos (3x4) (printed and on CD);
// A copy of ID document ;
// A copy of the document, providing the credits earned at a foreign higher education institution
All the foreign documents must be translated into Georgian and confirmed by the notary public.

Note:

// After presenting and analysing all the documents required, a written consent will be given
by the Rector about the possibility of an applicant/an applicant for Master’s programmes/a
student being accepted for the vacancy considering the total number of students (name, surname
and the educational programme will be indicated).
// In case a written consent will be given by the Rector an applicant/an applicant for Master’s
programmes/a student (if under-age, a parent or a trustee) or an authorized person (in case he/she
has a duly certified letter of attorney) will present the above listed documents to the National
Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (http://eqe.gov.ge/eng/static/213).
// After being given the right to study by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia the
university is authorized to enroll the person into the academic educational programme.

The people who want to continue their studies at the professional educational programmes must present
the following documents to the center of professional education of Tbilisi Open University:


// An application form addressed to the Rector;
// 4 photos (3x4) (printed and on CD);
// A copy of ID document ;
// A copy of the document certifying foreign complete or incomplete general education or its equivalent;
All the foreign documents must be translated into Georgian and confirmed by the notary public.

Information for future students!

// The documents can be sent by express post (DHL, UBS, TNT, FedEx) before enrolling.
// Tbilisi Open University does not provide students with an accomodation. It is available
for the accepted applicants (houses can be rented nearby; a monthly price varies from 100 to 200 USD).
// Medical Insurance
// The students are given a recommendation to take local or international medical insurance
(a monthly price for different packages varies from 7 to 25 USD).
